Cara Sederhana Mengartikan 4 Teks Dongeng Bahasa Inggris Pendek

Ada cuplikan 4 teks dongeng bahasa Inggris pendek ( Narrative Text ) dalam postingan saya kali ini beserta pertanyaan pilihan ganda di bawahnya. Menurut saya cuplikan-cuplikan narrative ini bagus untuk contoh cara mengartikan/menerjemahkan. Semoga cara sederhana mengartikan 4 teks dongeng pendek ini bisa memberi manfaat pada Anda. Untuk mempermudah di bagian bawah / akhir pertanyaan ( soal ) saya cantumkan beberapa kata atau frasa kuncinya. Kata atau frasa kunci ini adalah strategi yang sangat tepat untuk memahami sebuah narrative text.

                                                                       Why Rabbits Eat Foxes
        One day, a fox walk in the forest. Then she saw a rabbits. The rabbit was busy to write something in a book. The fox was confused. So, she come to the rabbit asked him some questions. She forgot to eat the rabbit.
“I am writing an article,” said the rabbit.
“What is the topic of your article,” asked the fox.
“It’s called Why Rabbits Eat Foxes,”
“That is crazy,” said the fox, “everyone knows that foxes eat rabbits, not the other way around.”
“Why don’t we step into my house and talk about this,” the rabbit said, and the fox agreed. Time passed. Soon the rabbit came out of the house, but the fox did not.
The next day, a wolf came into the same forest. Same story, except this time article title was Why Rabbits Eat Wolves. After some time, the rabbit came out of the house but the wolf did not. The day after, there same thing happened to a monkey.
An owl saw what happened to the fox and wolf. She wanted to know why all the other animals did not come out, and said to herself “I must see what is going on here.” So the owl flew quietly to the rabbit’s roof and looked inside the house. She saw in one corner a neat pile of fox bones. Nearby, another pile of wolf bones. And in the middle of the house, there was a very big lion. The lion was eating a nice monkey dinner.

                                                             The Miller, His Son and The Donkey
Once upon a time, a miller and his son were taking their donkey to the fair. After walking for sometime, they met a group of young men. “Look at those fools!” laughed the men. “Why doesn’t one of them ride on the animal?” When the miller heard that, he lifted his son onto the donkey’s back. Then they went on their way.
Soon they met an old man. He walked up to the miller’s son and said, “Shame on you, boy. How can you sit there and let your poor father walk?” Very quickly the miller’s son jumped down and told his father to sit on the donkey.
Not long after that, they met some old women. “What a cruel man!” cried one of them. “The poor boy has to run to keep up with him.” So the miller lifted his son onto the donkey’s back and they rode on it together.
After a while, a man stopped them. “How can you be so cruel to that donkey? Why you should both be carrying the poor animal?” the miller and his son did as he said, but the donkey didn’t like it at all. It kicked and kicked. Just as they were crossing a stream, the animal fell into the water and drowned.
“Maybe we shouldn’t have tried to please everybody, “said the miller sadly.

                                                                    Androcles and the Lion
A slave named Androcles once escaped from his master and fled to the forest. As he was wandering about there he came upon a lion lying down moaning and groaning. At first he turned to flee, but finding that the lion did not pursue him, he turned back and went up to him. As he came near, the lion put out his paw, which was all swollen and bleeding, and Androcles found that a huge thorn had got into it, and was causing all the pain. He pulled out the thorn and bound up the paw of the lion, which was soon able to rise and lick the hand of Androcles like a dog. Then the lion took Androcles to his cave, and everyday used to bring him meat from which to live.
But shortly afterwards both Androcles and the lion were captured, and the slave was sentenced to be thrown to the lion, after the latter had been kept without food for several days. The Emperor and all his Court came to see the spectacle, and Androcles was led out into the middle of the arena.  Soon the lion was let loose from his den and rushed bounding and roaring towards his victim. But as soon as he came near to Androcles he recognised his friend, and fawned upon him, and licked his hands like a friendly dog. The Emperor, surprised at this, summoned Androcles to him, who told him the whole story. Whereupon the slave was pardoned and freed, and the lion let loose to his native forest.

        One day, a young wanderer got lost in a wood. Suddenly he saw a light form an old hut. He knocked on the door, and an old woman opened it. She was crying. She said that the devil had stolen her magic candle. The candle could grant anything she asked. The wanderer asked her where the devil lived. “In the castle not far from here,” said the old woman.
The wanderer went to the castle. There he found the devil. But she was old and weak. Therefore, when the wanderer grabbed the magic candles from the devil’s table and ran away, she couldn’t chase him. But the wanderer was not a kind man. He didn’t return the candle to the old woman, but kept it for himself. He lit the candle and made a wish, ”I want to go far away from here”. Suddenly, the genies appeared and took him to a beautiful palace. There was a party in the palace. The wanderer wanted to make some money. So he lit the candle again and wished for some jewelry. He sold them to the guests and was soon making a lot of money. Then the princess came to buy the jewelry, but there was nothing left. The wanderer fell in love with her and asked her to marry him. The kind princess said yes, and they got married the next day. In his happiness, the wanderer told the princess about his adventure and the magic candle.
        Hearing that, the princess got very angry. At night she lit the candle and wished that the wanderer disappeared.
In the morning the wanderer  awake and found himself back in his ugly house in the village.
